About the Humanities Council
The West Virginia Humanities Council is a nonprofit organization governed by its board of directors. Our mission is to promote a vigorous program in the humanities statewide in West Virginia.

Our Historic House
In 1999 the Humanities Council purchased the 1836 MacFarland-Hubbard House, a landmark property listed on the National Register of Historic Places and one of Charleston’s seven antebellum houses.
