A former educator and UMWA coal miner, Fred Powers will take the audience through a first-person narrative that highlights the voice of a typical coal miner and his place in American history. This experience will include the dangers of mining and an overview of coal culture including superstitions, tools, customs, and stories. This program is free and open to the public.
