On Saturday, September 4th, as part of the Battle of Blair Mountain Centennial, WVAM will host a free symposium in Charleston, WV focused on museums, labor, and social activism. There will be two panel discussions, in which scholars and professionals from Appalachia and beyond will discuss both the interpretation of labor history at museums and historic sites, and whether museums are neutral or non-neutral actors when it comes to social activism.
