The West Virginia Humanities Council presents, "The History of Salt in the Kanawha Valley," a Little Lecture by Nancy Bruns. Seventh-generation saltmaker Bruns is co-owner of the 200-year-old J.Q. Dickinson Salt-Works in Malden, where she and her brother Lewis Payne have revitalized interest in the salt manufacturing that was once the Kanawha Valley’s first major industry.
