MIT Leverett and William Cutten Professor of History of Technology, Dr. Merritt Roe Smith, examines Harpers Ferry’s role in the industrial revolution, specifically John Hall's success in the use of interchangeable parts, which created the “American System of Manufacturing.” This talk is part of the 2019 monthly speaker series commemorating the 75th Anniversary of Harpers Ferry National Historical Park.
