On August 11th at 7:00 p.m. at the Cottrill Opera House in Thomas, award-winning historian and author John Alexander Williams will present a free lecture on Henry Gassaway Davis, an industrialist who helped shaped Tucker County’s history. Henry Gassaway Davis is an important figure in West Virginia history- a wealthy businessman and powerful politician whose word was law in the new state of West Virginia. rn
