Harpers Ferry National Historical Park (HFNHP) will commemorate the 1867 founding of Storer College, one of the first institutes of higher learning for freed slaves following the Civil War, with a 3-day event on the grounds of the former college. Events will be free and open to the public and will include keynote speeches, panel discussions with scholars, musical and dramatic presentations, and family and youth activities.
