The West Virginia Humanities Council presents, "Black Huntington and the Rise of the African American Middle Class," a Little Lecture by Dr. Cicero M. Fain. Now a professor at the College of Southern Maryland, Dr. Fain is a third-generation native of Huntington, WV, and the author of "Black Huntington: An Appalachian Story" (University of Illinois Press, 2019). His discussion will contextualize the city's black history within the racist barriers of the Jim Crow era.
