"12 Days at No. 9: The Farmington Mine Disaster 50 Years Later" will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the event while highlighting the culture of coal mining families and how they were affected by the media. This lecture is being presented as part of the Diversity in Appalachia Lecture Series, which serves to emphasize underrepresented voices in Central Appalachia and West Virginia. The event is open to the public.
