This presentation and awards ceremony is taking place as part of the Appalachian Heritage Project, a year-long series of educational programs, events, and scholarly projects that utilize the prestige, talent, and body of work of an Appalachian writer whose writing has evinced a commitment to the understanding of the region, its culture, language, history, and traditions.
